A sweet little storytime for two-year-olds and a parent or caregiver.

Science Fair 101

Offered by the Fairbanks Children’s Museum, in conjunction with the FNSB School District and the Noel Wien Library.
Free display boards for the first 200 students.
For kindergarten to 8th grade. No registration required.
Step 1: Pick a topic with the help of a local scientist.
Step 2: Begin researching your topic at the library.
Step 3: Organize your information into a project.
Step 4: Create your own display board.

Drop-In Safari Play Day

Dog Man Celebration

If you’ve read Dog Man books, join us for a celebration of all things Dog Man, the book series by Dav Pilkey.
In Makers’ Club, you will think, design and build creative solutions to a problem. Challenge yourself to use the materials provided to come up with a way to make or do something – perhaps in a way that no one has done it before! For ages 8 and up. No registration is required.

Cook N’ Book
This program is a partnership between the Fairbanks North Star Borough Parks and Recreation Department and the Fairbanks North Star Borough Public Libraries.
Books come to life through creative cooking! This program will have young tots and their parent/guardian joining us weekly for a fun, hands on cooking class that will revolve around a different children’s book. Recipes are fun, easy and child taste bud approved. You’ll be surprised what they eat when they make it themselves! All classes include story time, a craft, and snack making.

Sign up for one, two or all classes this winter! Participants must pre-register at parks.fnsb.us. There is a maximum of 12 spaces per class, so be sure to register ahead of time!
The library will be closed on Monday, January 20th, for the Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday.
Harry Potter Trivia Night!
Are you into Harry Potter, like reeeaally into Harry Potter? Join us for a free and family friendly evening of Harry Potter trivia. Prizes will be given away for best costume, team name, winning teams and door prizes too. Teams of 2-6 people will challenge each other’s book AND movie knowledge, all while enjoying some tasty treats and don’t forget the butter beer!
