Preschool Storytime

Tuesdays @ 10:30 AM and Wednesdays @ 1:30 PM
A fun storytime for 3-5 year olds, held in the Berry Room. No registration is required.

Parents & Twos Storytime

A sweet little storytime for two-year-olds and a parent or caregiver.
Call the Berry Room at 459-1052, or stop by in person, to register for the four-week February 2020 series.
Spaces are limited in each session.
Advanced registration for each monthly series IS REQUIRED.

Family Evening Pajama Storytime

An evening family storytime for 3-10 year olds in the Berry Room.
PJs, slippers, and your favorite stuffed animal are welcome.   No registration is required.

Call the Berry Room at 459-1052 to find out the title of the movies being shown in the Noel Wien Library Berry Room.  Movies shown in the auditorium include popcorn munchies.  Auditorium doors open ten minutes before movie starts.

Science Fair 101

Saturday, February 1st  – 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Noel Wien Library Auditorium

Offered by the Fairbanks Children’s Museum, in conjunction with the FNSB School District and the Noel Wien Library.

Free display boards for the first 200 students.

For kindergarten to 8th grade.  No registration required.

Step 1:  Pick a topic with the help of a local scientist.
Step 2:  Begin researching your topic at the library.
Step 3:  Organize your information into a project.
Step 4:  Create your own display board.


All month, stop by Winston the Turtle’s tank in the Berry Room to enter a drawing to have a personal visit with Winston during spring break (March 9-13) before the library is open (between 9 am and 10 am).

Children’s Fossil Program
(A No School Day program)

Presented by the University of Alaska Museum of the North
Wednesday, February 19th @ 1:30 PM

Join us in the auditorium to explore how scientists study ancient life!  See and touch real fossils.
Listen to a story and try hands-on activities.


Tuesday, February 18th@ 10:30 AM, Berry Room (A No School Day)
Join us for an hour of toy brick building fun.
We provide the toy bricks, you provide the imagination.
This month our theme is gadgets!
For ages 3 and up.
No registration is required.


Makers’ Club

In Makers’ Club, you will think, design and build creative solutions to a problem. Challenge yourself to use the materials provided to come up with a way to make or do something – perhaps in a way that no one has done it before!  For ages 8 and up.  No registration is required.

Cook N’ Book

This program is a partnership between the Fairbanks North Star Borough Parks and Recreation Department and the Fairbanks North Star Borough Public Libraries.

Books come to life through creative cooking! This program will have young tots and their parent/guardian joining us weekly for a fun, hands on cooking class that will revolve around a different children’s book. Recipes are fun, easy and child taste bud approved. You’ll be surprised what they eat when they make it themselves! All classes include story time, a craft, and snack making.

$10.00 per class
Pre-registration required. 

Sign up for one, two or all classes this winter! Participants must pre-register at parks.fnsb.us.  There is a maximum of 12 spaces per class, so be sure to register ahead of time!

The library will be closed on Monday, February 17th, for the Presidents’ Day Holiday.
