Budget Update & Town Hall Event

Assembly Finance Committee Chair Leah Berman Williams and Mayor Bryce Ward would like to invite FNSB residents to the Budget Update & Town Hall event on April 28, 2021. The event will be from 6:00-8:00pm and will be both online and in-person. The in-person event will be held at the Centennial Center Theater at Pioneer Park (COVID-19 safety measure will be in place). Residents can also participate online via Zoom and Facebook Live. 

Would you like to share your thoughts on the FY 2021-22 budget? You can do that in a variety of ways.

  1. Attend in-person on Apri 28 and fill out the sign-up sheet outside the theater.
  2. Fill out the Sign Up for Telephonic Comment form online and a staff member will call you during the Zoom meeting.
  3. Don't plan to attend the town hall event? You can still provide public comment using the Budget FY 2021-22 Public Comment form.

The Centennial Center Theater is located at Pioneer Park. The address is 2300 Airport Way, Fairbanks, AK 99701. Guests can park in the Centennial Center parking lot in the back.

State of the Borough Address

On Wednesday, April 7 at 2:00pm, Mayor Bryce Ward released the recommended budget for FY 2021-22 and provided a status on the Borough. You can view the presentation slides and watch the video below:

Notes on the Recommended Budget

Circumstances have precluded our ability to have the entire FY22 Recommended Budget available at this time. Items of note about this interim electronic version are:

  • This document is bookmarked.
  • The included Reader’s Guide is not fully updated and is therefore marked as “DRAFT”.
  • The table of contents is incomplete.
  • The Mayor’s Message, Appropriating Ordinance and attachments, Mill Levy Resolution and attachment are not page numbered.
  • The Budget Highlights section is not included.

The electronic version will be updated and updated to this web page on a piecemeal basis until the final full FY22 Recommended Budget is complete, at which time, it will be marked as such.
